The Disney marathon results were posted after the race took place on January 7th and 8th at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. There was both a marathon and a half-marathon held at this time for runners, people in wheelchairs and people using a hand crank too. This meant that there were 3 different races held for both the marathon and the half-marathon, meaning that there were a total of 6 different marathons held here. Then there were also the women's and the men's divisions meaning that there were a total of 12 different races held in total.
Of course, there were also 12 different winners once the Disney marathon results were calculated. In the men's category, Adriano Bastos won the marathon, Renzo Martinez won the men's wheelchair marathon, Jarrod Shoemaker won the men's half-marathon and Shane Lusk won the men's half-marathon wheelchair. In the women's category, Gabriela Trana won the marathon, Kristen Messer won the women's wheelchair marathon Shannon Schaffer won the women's hand crank marathon, Melissa White won the women's half-marathon, Arabella Guerra won the women's half-marathon wheelchair and Kristine Schroeder won the women's half-marathon hand crank.
This race took place over a course of 2 days. These Disney marathon results were calculated with some people having ran 39.3 miles. There were almost 30,000 athletes who actually participated in this challenge, which is a 6.25% increase from 2005. In the half-marathon 16,000 people participated, meaning that 14,000 people actually ran the full marathon. Each of the finishers received a medal with Goofy on it. They also got special Disney World packages for themselves, their family members and their friends to enjoy. Of course, there were also a lot of other great events over the course of the weekend for everyone to enjoy as well.
