disney jetix abc kid
Disney Jetix is a children's television programming brand that began airing on ABC Kid in January 2005. This brand broadcasts in the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Latin America. It is also listed on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange, but only 25% of the shares are listed and Disney owns the remaining shares of stock. Unfortunately, on August 31, 2005, ABC chose to drop the Jetix block, leaving it to only continue airing on Toon Disney in the United States. There were a lot of negative responses to this move because there were a lot of shows removed from it at that point.
Disney Jetix then started to air in Canada on September 10th, 2006. However, it was not on ABC Kid, instead it was shown on the Family channel. Here the shows replaced the “Power Box” block with shows such as "Power Box," "Get Ed," "Oban Star Racers," "W.I.T.C.H." and "Power Rangers Mystic Force." These were shown in place of what had been showing: "Spiderman" and "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!" This took place from 6:03AM until 7:45AM weekdays and then there were commercial free weekend mornings. The current announcer between these shows is Brian Donovan.
As you can easily see, there have been a lot of changes taking place with Disney Jetix, regardless as to whether or not it was showing on ABC Kid. There were a lot of other changes that took place here between the years of 2001 and 2002 as well. For instance, this venture was originally owned by US Fox Children's Entertainment and Haim Saban's Saban Entertainment before being sold to the Walt Disney company in October 2001 where it remained on the Fox Broadcasting Company television network until 2002. The Jetix name then came into play in January 2004.
